This exquisite, multi-colored amphora from the Greek Classical Period has elaborately painted scenes on all sides celebrating the life of Hercules. The cast of characters--Hercules, Kerveros, King Eurytheas, Hermes and Tholos--are incised in detail and painted in red, white and black on the terra cotta background. The artist of this reproduction has excelled in replicating the intricate precision of the original artist's design.
