| Each tapestry below is a historic reproduction of a medieval original. Imported from France or Belgium, the tapestries have been reproduced by the best weavers in Europe whose intricate stitching and high quality threads create a superior product.
A note about materials:
Cotton or wool?: Some sources don't identify what their tapestry is made of. Wool is premium; it provides a rich lushness, texture and tactile quality along with added life. Cotton has been used since the 19th century; it is less expensive and it provides a smooth luster and fidelity of color that compares very favorably to wool. Both will last for generations in normal circumstances.
Woven or silk-screened?: Woven tapestry is, of course, traditional and timeless. But, they are newly woven and cannot be made to "look" old. So, in a few cases where the aged, faded look is required, a laboriously silk-screened (serigraphed) tapestry may be the best choice. In the silk screening process the fabric is woven in a neutral color, and then the color is applied to the surface, allowing each color layer to soak in . The artist then finishes it by hand. This process enables the artist to complete the tapestry to duplicate it to the original in the museum today with all the 500 years of wear and tear showing on it (fading, water marks etc).
FREE ROD included with each tapestry!
The rod fits into a hidden sleeve in the back of the tapestry. It is not visible when the tapestry is on the wall. All you need is a drill, a screwdriver, a good eye and maybe a third hand!
NOTE: The images below are 40-60 kb/each in order to view the intricacy of pattern and design!
