Dancer by Canova
This sculpture by Antonio Canova was finished just months before he died. It was commissioned by an Englishman named Sir Simon Houghton Clark. It can now be found in the National Gallery of Canada. In the myth illustrated here, Eros is about to revive his lover Psyche, who has been put to sleep by a magic perfume.
