Asian Temple Palace Bookends
Forbidden City, Bejing, China. The Imperial Palace was erected in 1406-1420 during the Ming Dynasty. Commissioned by the emperor Zhu Di, the forbidden city remains the largest and best preserved complex of ancient buildings existing in China. The rectangular shaped complex is 961 meters north to south and 753 meters from east to west, and there are 8,700 rooms. The rich finish is created from a combination of patinas which enhances the details of the bookends. These bookends measure 7x 5x 5, 5 lbs for the set.

Greek Acropolis Porch of Maidens Erechtheion Bookends
Athens, Greece. The Porch of the Maidens, Erechtheum, Acropolis was erected in 421-406 B.C. It was designed by Ictinus and Callicartes. Maidens (known as Caryatids) replace columns in the porch of the Erechtheum. The originals today have been replaced by fiber glass reproductions due to concerns over pollution erosion.
